You’d expect the son of an L.A. sound engineer would know his way around a recording studio. Keyboardist Cal Harris Jr., who keeps busy with the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Whitney Houston and Beyonce, shows he’s got the experience and the touch with “Inside Out,” his debut CD which has produced two hit singles, the title track and “She Loves the Water.”

The bouncing title track is, indeed, a contemporary jazz gem that fuses his appreciation of jazz, funk, and R&B. One of 11 original songs, that song and “She Loves the Water” showcase Harris’ amazing ability to create infectious melodies that stay in your head long after they’re over.
